It is very true that it is so easy to gloss over your life without touching it empathetically and to sanitised it with the “I must be positive’ mantra as being part of “looking on the brightside” thought patterns. This can be just another modern coping strategy and a way of avoiding the basic and hard truth.
It is important to be real if life is providing you challenges, but you also don’t have to be driven into a fight between the light and dark internally either by acknowledging that it is what it is, and that it’s providing you some discomfort. Feeling and being honest with yourself is important in change.
It is always the words you use in your vocabulary and mind that allows you to find a balance and still invite positive changes into your life.
Michelle Maros blog of “Peaceful Mind, Peaceful life” says it all:
It is how you work with it. Being present and aware of your language, and using cognitive behaviour tools including using the ‘I AM’ that are now, active and powerful that will bring about long term change and moving forward positively and honestly in your life.
