Isn’t It Great To Learn Mindfulness Tools

I love learning and so I am currently on a Mindfulness Nutrition Diploma Course which is absolutely fabulous – so watch this space when you come to our WellBeingMe programme (new dates coming soon!).

Being on the course has reminded me of a range of tools for Self Awareness and Thought Management which are so useful to remember.

One I particularly like is the following tool which may assist you if you are in a moment of overwhelm, feeling stressed, or your mind is in total panic mode
or you are in mindless eating mode. All you need to do is remember the word as each letter stands for the steps you take to bring yourself to a more positive state.  It is a word most people may think of in moments of overwhelm but do not carry out the process which can help move them forward:

STOP

* Stop – simply pause
* Take a few deep breaths
* Observe your thoughts and any emotional response that you may be feeling.
* Proceed in a different direction

It is so easy to remember as all you need to do is STOP! Next time you feel you are in a moment of overwhem give it a go!

This tool can be used on its own or in conjunction with other mindfulness tools.
